Jerusalem proud of Hashemite custodianship — Orthodox patriarch

AMMAN — The Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in Jerusalem on Thursday stressed its support for His Majesty King Abdullah’s strategy which is based on humanitarian values and defending the country’s and citizens’ welfare.

Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem, All Palestine and Jordan Theophilos III said King Abdullah’s televised address to the nation shows the Kingdom’s keenness to maintain the unity of its people and protect its citizens.

He added that the speech also highlights Jordan’s wisdom in facing challenges and its precise vision for the future.

The patriarch added that Jerusalem, which was mentioned by the King, is proud of the Hashemite custodianship over its Islamic and Christian sites.
