Jerash achieves 30% increase in visitors in first third

AMMAN – A total of 121,750 people visited Jerash during the first third of 2019, marking a 30 per cent increase from the 101,900 visitors to the city during the same period of last year.
In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Director of the Jerash Department of Antiquities Ziad Ghunaimat said that the city has made JD952,530 in revenue so far this year compared with JD763,524 made during the first third of 2018.
He added that the Department of Antiquities' projects this year, valued at JD280,000, have provided 90 job opportunities. Jerash has been witnessing a steady rise in the number of visitors over the past few years.
