IRBID — Royal Court Secretary General Yousef Issawi and Municipal Affairs Minister Walid Masri on Monday checked on the progress of the King Abdullah II Park project in Irbid, which is expected to be ready by April 2015.

Irbid Mayor Hussein Bani Hani briefed Issawi, Masri and Irbid Governor Hassan Assaf on the progress of the project, noting that it is currently in its final phase, which was awarded to a contractor in a tender worth JD1.5 million, with the total cost of the project reaching JD7 million.

Masri said the project is a Royal makruma for Irbid residents and extends over a 178-dunum plot of land.

The park includes green areas, ponds and several sports fields.
