Gov’t launches Dutch-funded project to boost agricultural exports

AMMAN — The Ministry of Agriculture on Sunday officially launched a produce trade facilitation programme, to support the export of Jordanian fruits and vegetables, according to an official statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The project, financed by the Dutch government, has prepared an action plan for marketing and developing agricultural products of added value, to export them to world-leading markets.
The Minister of Agriculture and Environment Ibrahim Shahahdeh stressed the importance of capacity building for exporters, in order to boost access to world markets and to benefit from Dutch expertise.
The Dutch Ambassador to Jordan Barbara Joziasse, Director of the Export Promotion Centre in Developing Countries Hans Klunder and the chairman and members of the Jordan the Exporters and Producers Association for Fruits and Vegetables attended the launch ceremony.
