AMMAN — The Minister of Agriculture and Environment Ibrahim Shahahdeh on Thursday denied that the importation of Syrian fruit and vegetables had been halted, contrary to rumours circulated by vegetables vendors, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Shahahdeh stressed that trade was open with Syria.

President of the Jordan Exporters and Producers Association for Fruit and Vegetables Saadi Abu Hammad said that the ministry had blocked the importation of Syrian fruit and vegetables two days ago which confused the suppliers.
