Generations for Peace expands reach in Tunisia

By JT - Oct 17,2016 - Last updated at Oct 17,2016

AMMAN — Generations For Peace (GFP) is scaling up its peace-building activities in Tunisia with a new programme in the North African nation, the Jordan-based organisation announced on Sunday.

The new programme aims to strengthen youth resilience to violent extremism through sports and art, GFP said in a statement. Some 12,870 young people, community members and local government officials will be engaged in the programme to reduce sympathy and support for violent extremist organisations, GFP added.

HRH Prince Feisal, GFP chairman and founder, said the programme would extend the organisation’s positive impact “to many more vulnerable communities, to tackle one of the most urgent and pressing issues in the world at present”.
