Gendarmerie Department receives equipment from Canada

AMMAN — The Gendarmerie Department on Tuesday received technical and logistic equipment provided by the Canadian government, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
At a ceremony to present the equipment to Jordan, Gendarmerie Department Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh highlighted the depth of the Jordanian-Canadian relations and thanked Canada’s government for the equipment, which he said would contribute to the technical capabilities of the gendarmerie.
For his part, Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Peter MacDougall said his government is committed to helping Jordan preserve international security and combat terrorism in the world, Petra reported.
