Fire flares up at free zone, police say arson suspect detained

AMMAN — A fire erupted on Saturday in the Zarqa Free Zone at a scrap yard filled with old vehicles and spread over an area of 200 square metres, according to a source at the Jordan Customs Department (JCD).
The source added that the Civil Defence Department extinguished the fire, which destroyed 150 vehicles, adding that an investigation showed that the fire was an act of arson, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Security agencies arrested the suspect who was spotted by JCD employees and by surveillance cameras.
