Fire extinguished after spreading into Jordan from west side of Jordan River

NORTHERN GHOR — Northern Ghor District Governor Adnan Otoum on Monday said extinguishing a fire that erupted on Sunday evening in Zuriyeh area in Wadi Rayyan lasted until midnight.
He said the fire, which originated from the western side of the Jordan River, destroyed forest trees on a total area of four square kilometres. Otoum also noted that the government is examining the fire’s location to prepare a report on the damages.

A committee, comprising members of the Jordan Valley Authority and the agriculture directorate of Northern Ghor District will check on the site of a fire that erupted in the Wadi Al Rayan area and assess the damage.
