AMMAN — The Jordan Engineers Association’s (JEA) freedoms committee on Sunday organised a sit-in near the Professional Association Complex in Shmeisani to express solidarity with Mohammad Allan and Ghassan Doar, who are serving time after being convicted of joining armed groups.
Protesters called for releasing Doar and Allan, saying they should not be serving time for “resisting the occupation”, according to a JEA statement. JEA President Majid Tabbaa called for halting security cooperation with the “Israeli occupation”, closing Tel Aviv’s embassy in Amman and freezing all procedures stipulated in the Wadi Araba agreement.
