AMMAN — The Daesh terror group claimed late Sunday responsibility for the deadly attack on the Kingdom’s borders with Syria, which led to the killing of seven Jordanian soldiers.
The announcement was carried by Amaq, one of the news outlets affiliated with the terrorist group.
Seven Jordanian troops were killed and 13 injured last Tuesday when a car bomb struck a forward military post at the no man's land at the borders between Syria and Jordan, the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said.
An official source told The Jordan Times that the Kingdom “will not respond to their [Daesh] statements and we will not give them such a privilege… They are a gang and Jordan is a great deep-rooted country”.
“This terrorist group will be uprooted and eliminated sooner or later,” he added.
“The fate of this gang will be either Jordanian prisons or getting killed,” he said.
“Jordanians should be aware that they are targeted by this criminal group. Their actions speak of their barbarity,” the source stressed.
“Their desperate attempts [to target Jordanians] will only make Jordanians more determined to eliminate the group,” he concluded.
