AMMAN — The Ministry of Culture and the Royal Film Commission (RFC) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch the "Convoy of Children's Movies" project and establish a film centre in Zarqa.
The project targets children aged between eight and 14 years in the governorates with equipped centres for cinema. It also gives access to children to watch movies that contribute in enhancing innovation, as well as encourage dialogue and express their opinion through holding dialogue sessions after the shows.
Under the agreement, signed by Minister of Culture Bassem Tweissi and RFC CEO Mohannad Bakri, a films centre will be established to provide training for youth in Zarqa-based Princess Salma Children Centre, affiliated with the ministry, to empower talents related to the film industry through holding workshops for the centre's visitors and residents.
