AMMAN —The Jordanian Construction Contractors Association (JCCA) cancelled a protest that was planned for Sunday after a meeting with the Public Works Ministry on Saturday, during which it pledged to pay JD15 million of contractors’ unpaid dues within two days, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The association’s secretary, Marouf Al Ghananim, said the Public Works Ministry will pay the rest of the unpaid dues to contractors during the next three weeks, noting that they total more than JD50 million. He also said the Water Authority of Jordan paid 40 per cent of contractors’ unpaid dues that amount to JD20 million.
