AMMAN — The Jordan Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission’s (JIACC) prosecutor on Thursday ordered the precautionary seizure of mobile and immobile assets of a company responsible for implementing renovation tenders in Aqaba.

A JIACC source told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that investigations and auditing indicated that there were violations in floating tenders and  in payments to the company, which amounts to JD2 million. The commission referred the case to court, the source noted.

The JIACC prosecutor also ordered the one-week detention of a ceramics merchant for allegedly offering a bribe to employees at the Jordan Customs Department. The employees refused the bribe and reported the incident to JIACC, according to Petra. The investigation continues.
