Altruism and charity essential in region — Prince Hassan

AMMAN — The Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), in the presence of HRH Prince Hassan, on Sunday launched the Global Network of Experts on the Question of Palestine, with the participation of specialised international experts and politicians.

The network will provide up-to-date analyses for policies and present political recommendations from different points of view, so as to act as a reference for policy makers, the public and journalists, according to a statement from the Prince’s office. 

Prince Hassan said that talking about international laws, mainly the right to protection, necessitates mentioning the right to respect, especially that man and humanity dignity are integral and cannot be separated.

He reviewed wars and conflicts that stormed the region since 1948, referring to the refugee crisis that as "a challenge for regional countries, especially Jordan". 

The prince highlighted the importance of enhancing the concept of “altruism and charity” and facing crises and developing strategies and policies that express the true voice of the region.

He renewed his call to establish an Arab regional fund for development, a regional socioeconomic council and an international institution for zakat and solidarity to contribute to dealing with challenges facing the people of the region, before highlighting the importance of supporting UNRWA to enable it to continue presenting aid, health and educational services, calling on the world to remember the magnitude of the humanitarian suffering of Palestinians. 

Zaid Eyadat, the chairman of the board of the trustees of ARDD, said that the cause of the Palestinian refugees is the main issue of the Palestinian cause and forms a challenge for the entire world.
