AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah left on Tuesday for the US, where he is scheduled to meet with several US officials, according to a Royal Court statement.

The King is due to meet with US Vice President Joe Biden, the statement said.

HRH Crown Prince Hussein was sworn in as Regent.

In February, His Majesty and US President Barack Obama held a three-hour summit meeting in California that focused on cooperation and strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States and ways to further boost ties in various fields in the interest of both countries.

King Abdullah was again on the US West Coast in May, where he met industry leaders in the field of business incubation, IT and filmmaking.
