Under Royal directives, e-platform launched to teach Palestinian curriculum free

AMMAN — Under Royal directives and as part of the Kingdom's continued role in supporting the resilience of the Palestinian people, the World Islamic Sciences and Education University (WISE) in Amman on Thursday hosted a ceremony to sign a partnership agreement to teach the Palestinian curriculum free. 

The agreement will enable the operation of a mobile application in conjunction with the WISE SCHOOL platform, offering free access to the Palestinian curriculum for students in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

WISE President Jaafar Fanatseh, Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher Education Amjad Barham, and CEO of Jo Academy Ala Jarar signed the agreement. 

Targeting students from grades one through twelve, the application focuses especially on those in Gaza, where war since October 7, 2023, has severely disrupted education. 

With damaged infrastructure and limited internet access, many students have been unable to attend school. 

The Palestinian Ministry of Education will oversee the application's operations, aiming to restore access to education for thousands of students.

The platform will provide educational materials across all subjects, even during internet outages, and includes online exams to assess student progress. So far, around 231,750 students have benefited from the WISE SCHOOL platform.
