Jordan Field Hospital Special /2 commences receiving patients in southern Gaza Strip

AMMAN — The Jordan Field Hospital Special /2 on Monday commenced receiving patients in southern Gaza Strip.
The commander of the field hospital said that His Majesty King Abdullah’s directive to dispatch the hospital was in response to medical and health needs in Gaza, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The commander emphasised the humanitarian message the hospital conveys to the people of Gaza, aiming to alleviate their suffering and deliver high quality medical services.
He pointed out that the hospital has medical personnel of all specialties serving as a compliment to the existing field hospital already operational in the war-torn Gaza Strip.
The field hospital is equipped with cutting edge technologies and the latest medical equipment, represents a continuation of Jordan's support to Gaza, in light of the shortage in medical services available in the strip.
The hospital includes emergency rooms, a gender-segregated ICU unit, 41 incubators, an obstetrics and gynaecology department, a laboratory, an X-ray machine, a sterilisation room in addition to 41 beds and two operating rooms for emergency surgeries.
