JAF foils infiltration attempt at border

AMMAN — The Eastern Military Zone on Friday foiled an infiltration attempt by two individuals of Arab nationality into Iraqi territory from the Kingdom.

An official military source from the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said that rapid response patrols were immediately dispatched and the rules of engagement were applied, leading to the apprehension of the two individuals, who were subsequently handed over to the competent authorities.

Stressing JAF's commitment to safeguarding national borders, the source emphasised the army's zero-tolerance policy against all parties involved in any action that threatens national security, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Friday.
