Green Finance Forum kicks off Tuesday

AMMAN — The first edition of the Green Finance Forum in the banking sector "Griffin", titled "Green Finance: Setting the Scene" launched on Tuesday at the Association of Banks headquarters.  The forum, organised by the Association of Banks in collaboration with the Green Action in Enterprises (GAIN), is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. Central Bank of Jordan Governor Adel Sharkas, Minister of Environment Muawieh Radaideh, and the President of the Association of Banks Bassem Al Salem attended the launch, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Sharkas emphasised the significant role the financial sector can play in adapting to the impacts of climate change and addressing related environmental and economic challenges. Salem noted that green finance and green sectors play a crucial role in Jordan's economy, promoting economic growth and dealing with major challenges.
