Two suspected drug traffickers arrested in Irbid, Maan

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department personnel arrested two suspected drug traffickers in Irbid and Maan after conducting raids on their whereabouts, the spokesperson of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said on Wednesday.
In Irbid, after gathering information about a drug trafficker wanted for several cases of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and drug possession, AND agents identified the suspect’s location and arrested him in possession of 22 palm-sized sheets of hashish, 2.5 kilogrammes of synthetic marijuana powder, locally known as “joker”, and 3,000 small bags packed with the same joker powder, according to a PSD statement.
In the second case, a suspected drug dealer in Maan was arrested after police verified that the individual was involved in criminal activities related to possession and promotion of drugs.
He was arrested in possession of various quantities of narcotic substances for sale, including four palm-sized sheets of hashish, 1,000 narcotic pills, small pieces of hashish and a firearm. Two people were arrested along with the main suspect in the Maan case, the PSD added.
