Jordan’s GDP up 2.5% in 2022 — DoS

AMMAN — The Kingdom's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant market prices grew by 2.5 per cent in 2022 compared to 2021, data released by the Department of Statistics (DoS) showed on Thursday.

In its quarterly statistical report, the DoS said that the Kingdom’s GDP, at constant market prices, grew by 2 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the fourth quarter of 2021, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

The data showed that the agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing sectors achieved the highest growth rate in the past year, amounting to 4.8 per cent, contributing 0.28 percentage points to the overall growth rate; followed by the construction sector by 3.2 per cent, contributing 0.10 percentage points.

The manufacturing industries sector came third with 2.7 per cent, contributing 0.50 percentage points; and the wholesale and retail trade, hotels and restaurants sector grew 2.6 per cent, contributing 0.21 percentage points.
