AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Sunday inaugurated the new Ministry of Finance building, located in the Shemisani district of Amman, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the inauguration ceremony, Khasawneh commended the ministry’s efforts to maintain Jordan’s monetary stability and adoption of prudent policies that have helped prevent a deteriorating standard of living and have protected the middle class from the repercussions of global crises.
In the presence of Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Ibrahim Jazi and Finance Minister Mohamad Al-Ississ, Khasawneh also stressed that the efforts of the Finance Ministry and its departments contributed to exceeding public revenue targets without resorting to raising taxes.
Thanks to these efforts, international credit agencies have either maintained or raised Jordan’s credit rating, highlighting the Kingdom’s ability to sustain reasonable inflation rates compared with many countries around the world.
Khasawneh directed the Ministry of Finance and its affiliated departments to continue automating services and simplifying procedures.
In turn, Al-Ississ voiced the ministry’s commitment to preserve public funds, enhance performance and expedite procedures in service of the people and the national economy.
