Senate committee discusses budget

AMMAN — The Senate’s Finance and Economy Committee on Monday discussed the budget, during a meeting headed by Senator Rajai Muasher and attended by Finance Minister Mohamad Al-Ississ.

The committee members commended the Ministry of Finance for maintaining the financial stability despite global challenges, highlighting the testimony of the International Monetary Fund and credit rating agencies.

Al-Ississ stressed that the government succeeded in maintaining financial stability in Jordan without raising tax rates, but through combating tax evasion and prudent stewardship of public funds.
