Justice Ministry, Salt Municipality sign MoU on alternatives to custodial penalties

AMMAN — The Ministry of Justice and the Salt Municipality on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding to oversee the implementation of alternatives to custodial penalties. 

The memo was signed by the ministry's Secretary General Saad Al Louzi and Salt Governor Muhammed Al Hiyari, and requires the municipality to provide a number of rehabilitation activities and programmes per the memo's social service clause, according to a statement.  

The Ministry of Justice has signed 15 memorandums of understanding, which will increase to 16 subsequent to the implementation of the agreement.
