AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the validating reasons for a bill on developing the Wadi Rum area, prior to sending it to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau.

The bill, approved during a Cabinet session chaired by Acting Prime Minister Tawfiq Kreishan, includes the buffer zone surrounding Wadi Rum in the bill, expanding the official area of Wadi Rum to include the reserve and the buffer zone, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The Council of Ministers also approved the recommendations of the settlement and conciliation committee related to settling pending cases between 393 companies and taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department.

The Cabinet also approved recommendations to settle 16 cases between the Jordan Customs Department and violators, provided that they commit to paying all remaining amounts, fees, taxes and expenditures within two months of the date of issuing the decision.
