House speaker voices support to Jordan Press Association

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmed Safadi and members of the permanent office on Thursday visited the Jordan Press Association (JPA). During a meeting with JPA President Rakan Saaydeh and members of the association council, Safadi reiterated the House's keenness to support the JPA and media institutions' demands, noting that the Chamber will visit various media institutions to learn about their demands and proposals.
He also drew attention to the importance of forming a committee between the National Steering Committee and the Syndicate to discuss media-related legislation to meet the demands of the press body, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Saaydeh expressed appreciation for the Lower House's keenness to enhance cooperation and partnership with the JPA, stressing the importance of enhancing press freedom, preventing the imprisonment of journalists and removing all restrictions that could hinder journalists' work.
