AMMAN — The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organisation (JSMO) on Sunday participated in the 23rd meeting of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

JSMO also participated in the meetings of the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organisation (AIDMO) and the Arab Higher Committee for Standardisation, held in the Saudi capital Riyadh, and concluded its work last week.

The Jordanian delegation in these meetings was headed by the JSMO Director General Abeer Zuhair, where the meetings were held with the participation of representatives of member states.

During the meeting with SMIIC, specialised committees were formed to review the current structure of the institute, the institute’s achievements and its periodic reports, including the institute’s annual report for 2021.

Members urged coordinating Arab positions in regional and international meetings and forums, in order to serve joint Arab action and unite Arab efforts in the field of standardisation and the development of quality infrastructure systems.
