Safadi receives Nebraska's Secretary of State to discuss cooperation

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Wednesday received Secretary of State of Nebraska Robert Evnen and an accompanying economic and commercial delegation over means to enhance cooperation, mainly in the economic, commercial, investment, agricultural and educational fields.
During the meeting, attended by Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Nael Kabariti, Safadi stressed the “deep-rooted and solid” strategic Jordanian-US relations, commending Washington’s support to help the Kingdom’s development process, according to a foreign ministry statement.
The minister also acquainted the delegates with the steps Jordan has taken to improve economic performance, increase competitiveness, encourage investments and create more space for the private sector to play its role.
The delegates stressed that the Kingdom is a strategic partner to the US and that Nebraska aspires to build an effective economic partnership with the Kingdom and activate cooperation programmes in several sectors, such as agriculture, water and education, in addition to boosting cooperation at the academic level between Jordanian universities and the University of Nebraska.
