Man arrested for alleged assault on minor

AMMAN — Police on Wednesday arrested a man who allegedly beat a 15-year-old boy with a sharp object. The boy sustained head injuries in the assault.

A Public Security Directorate spokesperson (PSD) said that the boy’s health condition is stable. Initial investigation revealed that the suspect had shown up at the minor's home over a financial dispute with the boy’s father, but after learning that the latter was not at home the man attacked the boy, the Jordan News agency, Petra, reported.

Police arrested the suspect, who has a criminal record, from his hiding place, a farm south of Amman, the PSD spokesperson said.
