Suspect in minor’s assault case admits killing boy’s father — PSD

AMMAN — A man, who was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly attacking a 15-year-old boy with a sharp object at his home in Marj Al Hammam, has admitted to sleuths that he had killed the boy’s father.

Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson on Thursday said that the suspect has admitted to officers that he had strangled the minor’s father to death in the Naur region, south of Amman, over a dispute, and hid the body in an uninhabited area before heading to the victim’s house to attack his son.

The concerned authorities headed to the scene and exhumed the body, the PSD spokesperson said, noting that an investigation is under way, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The boy sustained head injuries in the assault. Police had arrested the man, who has a criminal record, from his hiding place in a farm south of Amman.
