5 projects to receive funding for research on pandemic in Jordan

AMMAN — The Scientific Research Support Fund (SRSF) on Tuesday decided to support five research projects examining the coronavirus crisis in Jordan.
The administration of the SRSF, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has chosen five projects out of 58 that were submitted to the fund by scholars from 20 Jordanian universities, private and public, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Two of the selected projects fall under the field of social and economic sciences and humanities. Of these two research projects, one is titled "The role of companies during the crisis in mitigating the negative economic impact through optimising knowledge and resources of companies", while the other is titled "Measuring physical, nutritional and sleep activities during home isolation amid the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic”.
The third project is in the medical and pharmaceutical field, with the theme: "Study of the epidemiological, immunological and genetic aspects of the coronavirus in Jordan”.
The fourth research project is in the field of nanotechnology and biotechnology, and is titled "Detection of acute diseases among COVID-19 patients under home isolation using wearable sensors and Internet of Things technology".
The fifth project, in the ICT sector, is titled "Automated assessment of COVID-19 protective equipment using computer vision in Jordan".
