AMMAN — Public Security Directorate (PSD) personnel seized 273 vehicles and arrested 596 persons in the past 24 hours for violating the curfew imposed to limit the spread of COVID-19, the PSD spokesperson said on Wednesday.
The seized vehicles will be transferred to the designated holding yards in Muwaqqar and Swaqa, he said, adding that the vehicles’ owners will incur all the due costs upon retrieving them after one month.
The spokesperson added that all PSD personnel are working around the clock to control violations against the orders issued under the Defence Law, stressing that orders are being implemented “without compromise or discrimination”, the Jordan New Agency, Petra, reported.
