Army chief checks on operations in Southern Military Zone

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on
Tuesday visited a checkpoint in the Qatraneh district, where he was received by the commander of the Southern Military Zone.
Huneiti listened to a briefing presented by the commander on the procedures and efforts exerted by personnel at the military zone in cooperation with other security agencies to address the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The commander briefed the army chief on the zone’s plan to isolate the southern governorates from other regions of the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Huneiti also visited a checkpoint in Al Husseiniya district to check on its operations.
He stressed that the army is continuing to carry out its duties to help citizens nationwide, commending army personnel’s efforts under the current exceptional circumstances in the Kingdom, Petra reported.
