Agriculture minister attends national Arbor Day ceremony

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Shahahdeh on Wednesday in Karak attended the national ceremony held on the occasion of Arbor Day, which falls annually on January 15 in Jordan.
Shahahdeh said that the ministry seeks to instil the concept of sustainability in planting forest trees according to scientific standards, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister added that the protection of local produce is implemented through cooperation between merchants and consumers, also noting that the ministry will reduce the price of barley to support livestock keepers.
