AMMAN — The Lower House on Wednesday completed the formation of its 15 permanent committees.
Twelve panels have now elected their presidents and rapporteurs, while three are scheduled to hold separate meetings on Thursday to elect theirs, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
According to the chamber’s by-law, a committee can be composed of 5 to 11 members; if the number of candidates exceeds 11, members are elected through ballot within 14 days of the start of each ordinary session.
An MP cannot be a member of more than two permanent committees and cannot be a member of a committee and the permanent office simultaneously.
