RSS, Al Mirnah sign MoU to launch Internet connecting point

AMMAN — The Royal Scientific Society (RSS) and the Al Mirnah investment and business development company on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch the first Internet connecting point, Aqaba IX.
The national project aims at developing the Kingdom’s infrastructure in the ICT industry and in data centres, as well as establishing a neutral passage point for Internet providers that contributes to developing user services.
During the ceremony, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Muthanna Gharaibeh highlighted the importance of developing digital infrastructure in the Kingdom, noting that the MoU is the first step towards a “big digital transformation”.
