Police destroy seized drugs

AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) has destroyed drugs that were seized in 1,068 cases that received final rulings, the Public Security Department (PSD) announced on Wednesday.
Deputy PSD Director for Criminal Security Brig. Gen. Muhammad Malahim said that the PSD’s strategy in fighting drugs is based on operational, preventive and treatment aspects, which contributed to seizing these amounts of drugs, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. AND Director Brig. Gen. Anwar Tarawneh said the destroyed drugs included 3,856 kilogrammes of hashish, 34.117 kg of heroin, 70,123 kg of marijuana, 42 kg of synthetic cannabis, 4,920,547 Captagon pills and 220,959 drug pills.
