AMMAN — Public Works Minister Yahya Kisbi on Sunday said that the ministry decided to end 15 routine maintenance contracts at a value of JD50 million as of July 1, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Kisbi added that the decision was made due to the “unnecessary items” of these tenders in terms of cleanliness and protecting roads, especially as ministry personnel implement such roles.
The minister said that the decision is part of government procedures to cut expenditures following Prime Minister Omar Razzaz’s announcement that the government will cut public spending by JD150 million this year and will implement a series of projects to improve services.
