CDFJ holds training on right of access to information in public institutions

AMMAN — The Centre for Defending Freedom of Journalists’ (CDFJ) President Nidal Mansour stressed that Jordan is taking positive steps towards enhancing the right of access to information in ministries and public institutions, pointing out that this is a key step towards advancing transparency and good governance, according to a statement by CDFJ.

During the opening of two workshops on the classification of information in the ministries and public institutions, which saw the participation of 50 information coordinators and legal advisers in the “Iref” (Know) project, Mansour stressed the importance for the ministries and public institutions to abide by the right of access to information.

Mansour pointed that the two workshops will enable information coordinators and legal advisers to initiate effective procedures for the classification of late or incomplete information, or that which did not take into account the law and international practices.
