AMMAN — The Shahamah, Hadathah, Rayah and Justice and Development parties announced their official withdrawal from the Coalition of Centrist Parties, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The four parties issued a joint statement and informed the Political Development Ministry about their withdrawal from the 12-party coalition.  Also on Saturday, the National Current Party’s central council rejected a decision to dissolve the party, where 39 members voted in favour of continuation and 20 voted for dissolving the party.

The decision was made during a meeting headed by party president Abdul Hadi Majali, Petra reported. Party members said that political parties are vital in preserving the country’s democracy and progress, adding that development has to be based on democratic practices, where parliament should be composed of members representing party coalitions.
