Gendarmes’ chief, Canadian ambassador discuss security ties

AMMAN — Gendarmerie Department Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh and Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Peter MacDougall on Tuesday discussed cooperation in technical and training fields between both countries’ security forces, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, Hawatmeh highlighted bilateral ties, adding that the Gendarmerie Department constantly seeks to improve its capabilities in line with the best international practices, in addition to building national and international partnerships.
For his part, MacDougall commended Jordan’s role in preserving international security and peace and combating terrorism.
