Awqaf investigation panel refers ‘imam cheques’ case to prosecutor

AMMAN — An investigation committee at the Awqaf Ministry on Monday referred the case of “imam cheques” to court, under directives from the minister, Wael Arabiyat.
The ministry’s media office said that the committee finished its work and sent its report to the prosecutor to proceed with legal action, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The committee had earlier found evidence reportedly implicating a former finance official, in the manipulation and concealment of receipts and cheques at the ministry’s finance department.
