SOFEX 2016 to open Monday

AMMAN — The 11th Special Operations Forces Exhibition (SOFEX) 2016 opens on Monday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Sunday.

SOFEX Director Amer Tabbaa said the four-day event starts with a conference for the participating commanders to discuss issues related to special forces and international security.

A total of 105 delegates from 54 countries, including world leaders, ministers of defence and senior army officers, will be attending the event, which will conclude on May 12, Petra quoted Tabbaa as saying.

King Abdullah I Air Base in Marka is scheduled to host the SOFEX 2016 exhibition on Tuesday for three days, where over 380 companies from 37 countries will be showcasing the latest equipment used in special operations related to national security.

SOFEX will be held under the supervision of HRH Prince Feisal and the support of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army.
