IEC meets with political parties

AMMAN — The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) on Tuesday held a consultative meeting with the secretaries general of political parties and representatives in the Kingdom.
IEC President Riyadh Shakaa stressed the importance of working with all partners, noting that elections are a collective and national responsibility.
The IEC is preparing to expand its jurisdiction to manage and supervise municipal elections in addition to the parliamentary polls, in the event the required constitutional amendment is endorsed.
