Cabinet endorses decision to scrap privatisation commission, press department

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday endorsed a decision to annul the 2014 privatisation draft law.
The decision was taken in implementation of the independent public agencies restructuring law, which entails abolishing the Privatisation Executive Commission and referring its assets to the Finance Ministry.
The Cabinet also endorsed a draft amendment to the 2014 Press and Publications Law, under which the Press and Publications Department will be scrapped, with the new Media Commission to be tasked with the department’s responsibilities.
