AMMAN — Free Thought Forum Vice President Saed Karajah said on Saturday that fighting extremism in the media begins with the people’s will to reject extremism and avoid dealing with extremist propaganda, according to a Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies (RIIFS) statement.
Karajah delivered his remarks during a workshop on “shared values to counter extremist ideology” organised by RIIFS and Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, held with the participation of several young people from across the Kingdom. During the two-day workshop, which began on Friday, Renee Hattar, the head of the international studies department at RIIFs, said that tolerance means acceptance of others’ opinions and diversity.
