Tipper truck overturns on mountainous Ajloun road

AJLOUN — The driver of a tipper truck evening lost control over the vehicle on Wednesday and overturned in a mountainous area near the Nimer neighbourhood in Ajloun’s Kufranjeh District.

Ajloun Civil Defence Department (CDD) Director Col. Hani Smadi said that the truck, which was carrying extra weight, collided into a big rock which prevented the vehicle from crashing into houses in the area.

The truck was carrying 25 tonnes of rock, he added.

CDD personnel and a specialised team from the engineering battalion in the Northern Region Military Zone removed the rocks and moved the tipper truck to the main road, Smadi added.

Ajloun Governor Abdullah Al Khattab said all necessary procedures will be taken to ban the passing of tipper trucks on this road to prevent accidents.
