Senate deputy president, vice chair of China’s PCC discuss enhancing ties

AMMAN — Second Deputy President of the Senate Rajai Muasher and Vice Chair of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (PCC) Chen Xiaoguang on Monday discussed means to develop Jordanian-Chinese relations, mainly at the parliamentary level.
During a virtual meeting, Muahser said that His Majesty King Abdullah always urges to continue communication and cooperation with various friendly countries, especially those that support the Kingdom’s stances on the Palestinian issue, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The senator praised China’s support for the two-state solution that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital based on international legitimacy resolutions.
He also voiced appreciation for China’s support for the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jordan Times.
He also highlighted the “deep” Jordanian-Chinese relations in all fields and the high level of cooperation between the countries during the COVID-19 pandemic. The senator called for building on these ties and enhancing them at all levels, mainly economic ones.
Xiaoguang voiced China’s support for Jordanian efforts, under the leadership of His Majesty, to enhance security and stability in the Middle East. He also congratulated the Kingdom on the centennial of the establishment of the Jordanian state.
He also called for more joint efforts to further develop bilateral ties and seize opportunities to establish more cooperation at the economic and commercial levels, especially after the outbreak of the pandemic and its repercussions on various sectors and fields.
