Jordanian, Chinese universities to exchange academic knowledge

AMMAN — Jordan and China on Tuesday agreed to establish a “union” for universities in the two countries, through which they can exchange academic knowledge and research expertise.
The agreement was reached during a meeting Higher Education Minister Amin Mahmoud held with a Chinese delegation chaired by China’s Vice Minister of Education Hao Ping.
The Chinese official said grants allocated for Jordanian students at Chinese universities will be increased to 20 from 10.
The Chinese delegation expressed interest in a proposal to build a Jordanian-Chinese technical university in the Kingdom for students from Jordan and other countries.
